dudemanflab's Diaryland Diary

Thaw

For nearly an hour of evening, we were each in our beingness:

Rich flat backed and spread eagled near the pond,
Elissa making small ballet moves all to herself.
Down the hill roll Karl's beats, syncopated toms and cymbals
James seeps ink onto the early pages of his journal
while Julian, exercising who knows what muscles, crawls across the pond spillway.

The pond has melted all along the bank and so ripples down to the spillway, hurrying filaments of ice several inches along.

The wind is so cold I had to wear a jacket, but for a day in April it's felt like summer.

Thank God for weekends.
