Surrounded by buzzing at the moment. An incessant nnnnnn. The control panel has a red light, glowing at present, and a red button over which someone has taken care to write "Self Destruct." The alarm only goes off with the septic overflows. Septic tank only overflows when the pond thaws and the snow melts. (Did you think otherwise?). Spring is here. Two days ago it was a different problem when we nearly ran out of water. The forest pump gives us good and fresh water, but apparently we can only use so much of it. That meant dipping into the pond so we could flush the toilets. I watched King Kong tonight for the first time. I have to say it was impressive in its own right. Machines really saved Faye as well as the day. Can't say as much for Bruce Cabot. The things he did good, as best as I can make out, were these: 1. Followed Kong into his cave, guided by the sights and sounds of his battles with prehistoric creatures. 2. Dropped pretty-faced Faye and then fell along with her into the river when Kong broke his vine. 3. Gave Faye a nice peck on the boat, smiling throughout. 4. Held the woman he didn't rescue nice and tight atop the Empire State just before the credits came a'rolling. 5. Wore Janice Trone mom pants with his first-mate costume.
