dudemanflab's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She ate more Mexican food than she had in her entire life.

This week my college teacher, Linda Ligate, came to visit me in Carlsbad. Dr. Ligate, which is what I call her since I still cannot bring myself to ccall teachers by their first names, was visiting her niece who studies in Las Vegas and thought she'd swing down to our neck of the woods.

We had fun: visiting the blue house, the caverns, my grandparents, the living desert, the museum... things I thought she'd enjoy.

I was worried that we'd run out of stuff to talk about or that suddenly it would seem very strange that my teacher was sleeping in my house or that my parents would misunderstand her or vice versa.

All of these did happen at some point.

But we're all ok. It was fun.

Do you ever wish that when people would visit that you'd have something cool to show them?

Like: "Oh yeah, so this is the Mustang I've been rebuilding for the past few months" or "I'm afraid I've maimed the sage in this year's herb garden."

nah, that sounds a little like old people. Maybe I'll just stick with movies.
